Come in winter for skiing and snow-covered villages, summer for hiking and mountain scenery, or simply spend a few days driving through the valleys, eating well and exploring places most European itineraries completely miss. Better yet, make Andorra part of the road trip. The journey through the Pyrenees is part of the experience, and crossing between Spain, Andorra and France lets you experience three very different places without covering an enormous amount of ground.

Andorra is famous for shopping—and yes, people actually cross the border just to do it. With lower taxes than neighboring Spain and France, you’ll find everything from perfume, cosmetics and fashion to electronics, sporting goods and gourmet foods. Head to Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany for the biggest concentration of shops.
