Popular Day Trips from Athens

  • Delphi - Drive Time: Approximately 2½–3 hours from Athens

  • ​Cape Sounion-Drive Time: Approximately 90 minutes from Athens

  • Meteora-Drive Time: Approximately 4–5 hours from Athens.  There are no direct flights to Meteora, as it does not have its own airport. The closest airport is Thessaloniki Airport, from where you can travel to Meteora by self-drive, bus or train, which takes additional time

  • Epidaurus & Mycenae-Drive Time: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Athens

  • Mount Olympus-Drive Time: Approximately 5½–6 hours from Athens. There are no direct flights from Athens to Olympus, as Olympus is typically accessed by land. You can reach Olympus by self-drive, taking a train or bus from Athens to the nearby village of Litochoro, which is the main gateway to Mount Olympus.​
