Greenland's weather can change quickly, even during the summer months, so it's important to pack for all conditions. Dressing in layers is the key to staying comfortable, allowing you to adjust to changing temperatures throughout the day. A waterproof and windproof outer jacket, insulated mid-layer, warm hat, gloves, sturdy waterproof hiking boots, and thermal clothing are recommended year-round, especially if you're taking glacier hikes, boat excursions, or Northern Lights tours. Summer temperatures generally range from 40–60°F (5–15°C), while winter temperatures can drop well below freezing. Even on sunny days, cool Arctic winds can make it feel much colder. Greenland uses 220–240 volts with a 50 Hz electrical system, and most outlets are Type C, E, F, or K plugs. Travelers from the United States and Canada should bring a voltage converter for appliances that are not dual voltage, along with a universal travel adapter to fit Greenland's outlets. Before plugging in devices such as hair dryers, curling irons, or electric razors, check the label to see if they are compatible with 100–240V. The Igloo Lodge consists of five spacious igloos, each with room for two people. Reindeer skin and warm winter sleeping bags are available. There are candles on the bedside table, which means that the temperature is around the freezing point inside the cabin.
The trip to the Igloo Lodge is also exciting in itself. You will be taken in a snowcat for about an hour into Ilulissat’s hinterland with fantastic views along the way.

Camp Kangiusaq, run by Nuuk Water taxi, is a comfortable offering situated 90 km in Kangiuaq fjord, in the Nuuk fjord. Dinner peppered with Greenlandic produce will be served in the communal tent. Use the camp as a base to go kayaking, hiking, SUP boarding or just relaxing out in nature.
