The Northern Causeway Coast is one of the most spectacular areas of Northern Ireland and a highlight of any Ireland road trip. Stretching along the rugged Atlantic coastline between Belfast and Derry-Londonderry, the Causeway Coastal Route combines dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, tiny fishing villages, medieval castles and extraordinary natural scenery. The region's centerpiece is the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring more than 40,000 interlocking basalt columns created by volcanic activity millions of years ago.
